Header Heat Shield Bolts

I recently purchased an '03 Comp Orange SVT and it didn't have a heat shield on it when I bought it. I like to keep things mostly stock (just personal preference), so I ordered a new heat shield from Ford. The one thing I forgot was to order the attaching bolts. I would like to go to Home Depot or the like and buy some so I don't have to go back to Ford, but I don't know what size they are. Does anyone know offhand what size the 6 heat shield attaching bolts are? Thanks in advance.

Someone will chime in on bolt size. PM b16sir1991 or fordsvtparts and they will let you know.

There's a reason why the heat shield is off. The holes at the bottom become worn way and the the shield will rattle. You would do well to reinforce those holes when you put it on.

Thanks for the advice! I've read the threads about the heat shield rattling so I figured on doing something like that. I'm curious though - does the rattle only happen because the lower mounting points wear through the shield or do I need to reinforce the upper mounting points also?

id reinforce all holes just for personal satisfaction. just a flat fender washer on each side would be ideal. this of course WILL require longer bolts than OEM. but if Mike Trendel can give you the pitch and diameter of the bolts, you can go to Lowes and pick some up.

Sorry, I'm still new here - who's Mike Trendel?
