SE Michigan Ford Dealers - IP Swap

Hello focaljet community? I'm hoping someone can help me out.

Just purchased my 2004 Focus SE, 5-speed, 32k miles. I have the standard IP, and I want to swap it out for one that has a tach. I understand that a Ford dealer will have to download the information from my current IP and swap it over to the new IP. Has anyone had this done in the SE Michigan area? I'm hoping to find a Ford dealer who knows how to do this with minimal hassle.

Thanks,
Mike

are you talking about your gauge cluster? You don't 'need' the dealer to do it. The only thing that's going to be different is the mileage. And if you get a Cluster that has about the same as you do maybe a little more, just wait till the mileage is close and swap them out. Quite Easy.

Oops, sorry about the "focaljet" thing. Too many browser windows open at once...

The research that I've done tells me that the ABS and Traction Control lights will stay on if I swap gauge clusters. I'm trying to prevent that. I know that a new dash can be programmed with the exact mileage and options for a given car so that everything will be perfect. The easiest way I've heard of doing that is for a Ford dealer to use a specific diagnostic tool to download the information from the old gauge cluster and upload it to the new gauge cluster.

I was just wondering if anyone had that done in SE Michigan...

Thanks,
Mike
