As to what the diff is between the Euro ST170 and the US SVT, I would guess not much. However, I really don't know. Hopefully, someone with an SVT can chime in...? I do know that the bumpers are different...

Just joined today in hopes of getting some advice...looking to buy a 2000-2005 ZX5 and wanted to know if there's anything in particular when looking at these cars, any common problems to look out for, defects, or any other suggestions?

welcome to the site. the focus is an amazing car to own. do not get any vehicle with the 2.0 SPI (Split Port Injection) engine in it. It wont satisfy you. Mine has been good with not leaving me stranded, but its the least powerful of the focus engines.

zetec and duratec engines are the way to go!

Thanks! Just to be a little more specific of what I'm looking for is a daily driver/communter car & automatic so power doesn't really matter as long as it's a 4cyl & fuel efficient i'm good.
I was wondering about higher mileage cars, most of the ones i've looked at are at about 100k, should I be cautious or are these pretty reliable as they get up there...how much is too much, one guy was selling one with close to 200k but really inexpensive.

mine has 100k on it now. still runs great. it all depends on how the car was maintained. check on the timing belt on it.

whats up, im new to foci but im already in love. i bought tugboats silver zx3, and i cant stop driving it and looking for new things to do to it. but i do have alot of trouble following the abbreviationxs on this site. i learn
