The internet has been an incredible boon to automobile ownership. There are so many things I was able to learn or fix on my previous Saturn SC2 through SaturnFans that I know forums like this are indenspensible.

Well, eventually that Saturn cost more to upkeep than it was worth, so I sold it. I commute on my motorcycle, but if I want to do trackdays (or ever take a girl on a date) I need a car. The Ford Focus seems to represent one of the best small car values on the market, sitting at a crossroads of refinement, reliability, and (lack of) appeal.

I'm not throwing around insults, just observations - the Japanese hatches carry a huge used car premium due to their lineage, as do the German cars. The Focus has the same quality, but none of the 'star power' of those other cars, making it an excellent value.

Anyway, I found a private seller who's selling an '06 ZX3 SE in manual. However, the car is salvage title from (what I understand to be) an accident that caved in the flank of the car behind the door. I do not yet know if the unibody had to be welded/repaired yet because I have not seen the car in person. Also, as probably a result of that impact, the SRS light is on in the dash (owner says bags were not/are not blown.)

I am not afraid of a repaired car at all, however I do draw a line at damage that will affect the longevity/driveability of the car. My question to you is, is this an automatic walk away? Or should I pursue this?

Welcome to the site. You might be able to get better information if you post this in the technical chat section rather than in here since most people hardly ever check this section. Good luck to you. If you are in doubt just take it to a trusted mechanic and body shop to have them inspect the car thoroughly. The extra $60-100 you spend to have the inspections could save you thousands down the road.

Hey Everyone! Bought an 08 SE Sedan last year... I liked it so much that I made sure my 22 yr old Son and 19 yr old daughter got the 09's... My son's car is so Cooool! He got the 09 SES with 17" Wheels and Tinted windows with the smoked Grill and ambiant lighting... Wayyyy Cooool ...it's a guys car...

2 things I want to do: Wheel locks and a car cover (black car + no garage...no fun) Where could I pick both up for fairly cheap? I'd like to get the wheel locks NOW. Already had my "up to no good" neighbors ask me how big the wheels are. 17's. On a stock focus. I know. :D

I got the extended warranty--but i know i'll end up voiding it somehow. CAI/exhaust? we'll see.

Hello all.Well been looking for informarion about puting turbo into my ford focus mk1 2002 1.6l SE(DOCH) and find this site with some crazy focus 265bhp in greece..
well, what i drive i alrady sort of told.Little bit about me.. i am lithuanian guy who was dreaming about ford focus for years...since it apear on market..and i got it.I will put some picts of it.. already done some work on it and planing much more. BTW i live in Northern Ireland(UK) so if some one is near.Please let me know, would like to get in touch.. share experience and so on.This is best site so far i could find for ford focus maniaks :D
