Hello basalix & welcome!

I'm also more geek than mechanically-inclined, also just joined. Congratulations on the new wheels! Might they take you many miles safely for many, many years to come!

Hey Matt, sounds like a fun car to drive!!! Welcome (and we DO hope you'll be back, armed with plenty of pics!).

Hey all. Just bought a '05 ZX3 for my daughter. Always liked the style of the car, and it doesn't drive bad either. Got a lot to learn about the new ride, from maintenance to mods!

Is there any way to add an AUX jack to the factory MP3 player?

Yes (Note: not a mechanic so the following is in layman's terms).

The jack is in the back of my stock radio (also an 05 ZX3). I know, not a logical place for it but oh well. Just get a cord with two headphone jack adapters (one at each end). Attach one end to the jack in back, run it through the dash to the front (mine I put through a little hole down I poked in the plastic in the base of the dash console so it's hidden/cleaner). Then you just hook that loose end to your iPod/iPhone/laptop/etc & control it through said device. You might also have the option to spend a few extra bucks to get a device that will also display the text of the device on the display & if her FoFo has steering wheel controls, control it through that. That was a bit beyond my ability so did not exercise that option. I managed to do this with no damage to vehicle, cord, or myself (which is something most would not believe. I have a bit of a reputation haha).

Hope this is helpful!

Hmm! Guess I DO have one teensy mod I forgot!

Hi all, I'm Mike from CT. I just purchased my 03 SVT a couple of weeks ago as a daily driver. I also have a 95 Mustang GTS with full exhaust, headers, an intake, and a racing clutch and flywheel so the Focus is a welcome break from the hardness of that clutch set up lol. I'm currently looking for rims and snow tires for the winter as the tires i got it with are on their last legs. I'm wondering if 16" wheels will fit around the brakes in the front?
