^^^I just installed the MSD coil pack and the CFM 8mm wires. Seems a little smoother when you first give it gas but other than that not much difference

^^^ yeah, exactly. the msd coil just produces a hotter spark which makes it a bit more efficient. in the long run they are better than stock.

Tousley Ford Great Service

Two days ago I ordered Taylor wires from Summit. They arrived today standard shipping. Yesterday I ordered stock plugs, thermostat and temp sensor from Tousley standard shipping and they were here today. Total cost for all from Tousley was 67.65. Probably would have cost me 100 bucks or more from my local Ford dealer. Thanks Tousley! Also I don't recall seeing this mentioned on here, but if you use the Tousley web site to order parts it will not break down to svt specific in the vehicle definition. I found out from Steve that if you go ahead and go through the ordering process there will be a point at which you are asked to enter your vin number. They check the vin on every order and determine what model of Ford your vehicle is to make sure you get the correct parts.

Thanks everyone for this thread. I went with SP-463 spark plugs from Autozone which are made by autolite. They are dual platinum. Gapped them at .06 first, car was running like crap, regapped to .055 and it runs perfect. These were 3.99 each.:
Part Number: APP5364
Weight: 0.1 lbs
OEM Brand: Motorcraft
Thread Size: 14 mm.
Resistor Type: Suppressor
Heat Range: 4
Center Electrode Core: Nickel alloy sheath over copper core
Center Electrode Firing Tip: Platinum
Insulator Type: High alumina ceramic
Side Electrode: Nickel chromium alloy, platinum enhanced.
Thread Reach: 1.00 in. (25.40 mm.)
Seat Type: Tapered

Also went with Duralast wireset for $19.99

Part Number: 4685
Weight: 1.2 lbs
Warranty: Limited Lifetime
Wire Diameter: 8 mm.
Color: Black
Jacket Material: Silicone
Insulation Material: EPDM
SAE Class: E
Leads in Set: 4
Coil Wire: 0
Special Features: Pre-greased boots

Also was having trouble with Check Engine Light coming on and off, that has been fixed by replacing spark plugs and wires! Sweet...

Motorcraft spark plugs sp524

Okay, so I go to O'Reilly's and have them order the sp487 plugs. Come back and they give me the sp478. Return them and try and order the sp487, but the guy says that they have been replaced with the sp524. The sp487 has a .50 gap and the sp524 has a .51 gap. Can I safely use the sp524 platinum plug? Anyone know if this change is style number is correct? The sp487's part number is ayfs092fec while the sp524's part number is ayfs092fe1. I just don't want to cause any damage to the engine. Also, can you tell me the length that the plug should be?

Thanks.
