I can't wait to see some concepts or shots of what itll look like. The 2010 will determine if I get a mustang or not as my next car. Hope it looks sick and mean. And I hope theres more horsepower under the hood so the Mustang can run with the challenger and camaro when they come out with their 400+ engines

If they plan on improving it, heres where they can start.

1. Lose weight, 3800 lbs is insane.
2. Improve aerodynamics, brick design isnt cutting it.
3. Oh and add about 50-75 HP to the GT, ya know cause its not up to today's standards.

It'd be nice if the website didn't have to put their watermark in the center of the picture, it would make it easier to see.

Doesn't look like they're departing too much from the current design, just a minor facelift, at least externally. Oh well, not like there's much to expect out of the Mustang aside from its straight-line numbers. As long as Ford keeps it RWD with a V8 engine and decent 1/4 mile times the Mustang fan base will continue to buy it.

The GT isnt 3800 pounds. The GT500 is close to that, but a GT is 3400ish. You wont get much lighter than that unless they make the car smaller. The 04-06 GTO was 3700.

Also, the Challenger and Camaro both cost quite a bit more than a 25k Mustang GT. If you want a more powerful Mustang, you buy an upper end one. The GT500 only cost a little more than the Challenger SRT8, but has 75 more hp.

That's because the Charger and Camaro both have IRS vs. the Mustang's solid rear axle. That was a big cost-cutting move on Ford's part and it seems to have paid off, especially since most people in the market for a GT/"pony" car don't really care about its track capabilites, they just want a fast straight line car that looks good, is reasonably comfortable and has a low pricetag.

You know, for drag racing, a solid axle is the absolute best rear suspension you can have. No matter how hard you launch, the track and camber will never change. With IRS, is will every single time.

And contrary to popular belief, you can make a solid axle handle well, it just takes the right suspension. The roush Mustang handles very well, and it still has a solid axle. They just went with a 5 link setup instead of a 3 link like ford uses. If you take a stock GT, and put a 5 link in rear, the handling is really improved, it also gets rid of the wheel hop.

I like the tail lights. That's about all I can really tell I like with all that black crap covering the car.

aside from some changes in taillights/headlights, and smoothing out some of the lines, it looks like they aren't straying much from the current design. and why would they, it's selling well enough
