No coolant temp sensor? 2000 Zetec Focus

I have a 2000 Focus DOHC Zetec, there is no coolant temp sensor in the thermostat housing. If there is, it is where I can't see it. I looked from underneath the car and see nothing, just plugs from the factory and nothing up top. HELP!

coolant temp sensor is on the firewall side of the cylinder head, under the intake manifold.

It is located EXACTLY under #1 runner , It does not look like a regular temp sensor. It has a long 2 wire lead off of it and the wires are covered for protection with a large gray plug in

Is it right above the oil filter? I think I was sold the wrong coolant temp sensor. None of the sensors have the same plug as the one I was sold.

No it isnt right above the oil filter that more then likely is the knock sensor , the water temp sensor is directly below the #1 intake runner about an inch maybe 2

Here is a picture of the Coolant sensor on a head that has been removed. It is in the lower right hand side. This view would be from the rear of the car toward the front.

No it isnt push in , The temp sensor is pictured above just below the right hand opening in the head it has about a 7 inch lead off it with a large plug in

It does not look like a normal temp sensor it is small and about 3 inches long going into the head and has a very small head on it taking a 14MM if I remember correctly , you just about have to remove the Alt. to get a wrench on it and to get to it easy
