What is the proper way to replace the Cabin Filter 02-Focus.

On my 1st 02-Focus I did try to remove the cover at the base of the windshield on the passenger side to get to the cabin filter in doing so I mangled the cover. If I can remember correctly I think it was held down by 3 or 4 clips in the front and a few pins in the middle it was the pins I broke and the cover would not fit tight and water leaked in the car on the passenger side below the fan. So any secrets on doing the job correctly this time.

Silicone sealent to seal the gaps if there are any... Once you take it off it never seems to sit flush again, unless you are one of the lucky ones. Just take your time and dont force it, remember to slide it to the side first before you pull up on it. Good luck!
