air not blowing

I found something strange yesterday...

my car started falling apart since it hit 100k. Nothing major, small things, but enough to really annoy me. the strangest i found yesterday, i was driving to the store, and found it was mighty cold in my car, the heat was on, blow set to "2", but no air was coming out. turned the blower up to "3", once again, nothing, turned it up to "4", and it blows fine... so settings 1-3 just aren't working. Is there a couple fuses for this, or could my blower motor just be bad?

> it is the blower motor resistor..

Correct.

And if you do a search in this forum, you will find a nice procedure, complete with photos, on how to replace it.

P.S. When you have the high fan speed still working, but none of the lower speeds, this is a 99%+ indication that the problem is the fan/blower motor resistor pack gone bad.

I replaced resistor, but it didn't last...
it fixed all 4 speeds on blower motor. But it didn't last, a few days later and my blower only works on maximum again. What else could be causing the resistor to breakdown? No point in replacing resistor again until I know what else is wrong.

a bad ground somewhere maybe...or a short ...i dont know

Mine did the same thing on my 2000 zx3. It was the switch not the blower resistor or anything. Easy fix $10 on ebay.....

I couldn"t find blower switch or resistor on ebay. Who did you find to purchase blower switch, was it on ebay motors? Now I have found some, thanks.
