I agree.

While trying to do a brake job on a '97 Expedition...

1) Hammer broke in half; beating the rotor off the hub.
2) Bungie cord broke, letting the caliper fall which ripped the hose out, and snapped the line to the ABS Module.
3) As we speak, the last of the brake fluid is dripping into a bucket, or on the floor.
4) Which means tomorrow, I get to do a 4 wheel, scan-tool controlled, ABS bleed.

Oh, the rotor is still on the hub. And, this is just the left front. Didn't even get to the right side yet.

Now that I relived today's events, I'm going to bed.

I start with a 3lb drilling hammer, then a 8.5lb baby sledge, 8.5lb spiking maul, then a 10lb sledge, 16lb sledge, 20lb sledge, and the 24lb big bertha, or as I call it the Jawn Henry special.
I do have slightly smaller hammers for fine work, but for an auto repair would start with a 8.5lb baby sledge. screw that computer controled BS bleeding, that is what you use a power bleeder for, I can bleed 6 drums in less then 45 minutes by myself with one
