Sat in a 2008 today

So, while the dealer was changing my SVT's oil today, I strolled into the showroom to behold a dark grey 2008 SE sedan.

I touched, fondled, and sat in it - checked out the trunk and under the hood, too. Then I RAN to the restroom to yack up my breakfast.

But, seriously - I hate the exterior as much as I've already indicated elsewhere, but the new interior certainly isn't bad. The materials feel better than the '05-'07 Revell special, and the seats are a big improvement over what I remember from my good old, long gone 2001 (or was it a 2000?) ZX3. Decent fabric, tightly stitched and attached, and firm.

I did feel slightly guilty for oozing my disdain for the car all over the salesman, and for his even TRYING to entertain the possibility of my trading in the SVT for that or any other current U.S. Ford product. Probably not HIS fault that Ford's got its collective head up its ass...

Then I returned to service, paid my tab, and - man - my SVT just sat there looking better than ever. You're blowing it, Ford.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the 2008 had a glaringly obvious, big, fat BUBBLE on the paint, along the top edge of the rear passenger door, just below the window. Brilliant.

What do YOU care? You hate sedans anyway.

But, seriously - I didn't have the digicam with me, and - to paraphrase someone here - probably wouldn't risk contaminating my SD card by storing its image ANYWAY...

I couldn't have gotten a shot that was going to show you anything new or revealing anyway. Oh wait - a shot of that paint bubble would certainly be amusing. I'll be in the area again on Sunday, maybe I'll take the risk of offending my camera.

It's "allright." I don't love the design, and I don't hate it - but the quality's clearly better than the '05-'07. I still far prefer the ORIGINAL interior design when it's done up in a good, dark color scheme (like 2000 ZX3 "Dark Charcoal" - still the best-looking stock Focus interior ever).

Whatever.

I totally agree...my Dark Charcoal cloth interior against the White exterior looks killer...inside or out.
