um CF body parts hood, hatch, fenders. um i don't think any one makes CF doors, but I have herd that its not that hard to make a mold for CF (same as fiber glass) even if the CF didn't look all that good you could always paint it. you could cut your springs, but your ride will go to crap and your car will hate you for it. you could strip all the paint off your car and just run a single layer of primer, thats what they did with the jeeps in WW2 to save weight... replace all you windows with lexan. strip out auxiliary wiring that you don't use. after all that you could get bizzy with a hole saw. seen some pretty crazy stuff with that on a pinto. thats all i can really think of.

my name is nick and i weigh 120 :)
haha
5'11 and 120 yes haha

but ive taken the sound deadnig out in the rear, all the brackets and bolts for seat belts and etc, sub and amp and brackets, backseats, Rear bumper reinforcement, windshield washer resevoir pump and lines, mudguards, spare tire and jack. and more im sure... oh aluminum flywheel and fc udp. thats like 15lbs right there haha.

im thinking of going to a 2.5" exhaust instead of my 3" to save weight and have a little more umph down low, (i have 3" orp, 3" flex, 3" from flex back.)

3" does give you more power but its more for the top end in my opinion and i think you can see just as good gains if not better with a 2.5" exhaust.

and i cant go CF fenders and qp's (i have RS body panels...my car=wide)

i really want to weigh my car.

I'm tipping the scales at 2650 with me (190lbs) and about 1/4 tank.

The car has been gutted, incl door glass and mech. (exc dash and heater) with full roll cage and racing seat. (tubing for full roll cage weighed approx 150-175 based on lenghts used)

All body panels are stock and no real trick parts in suspension or brakes.

A/C and cruise control deleted. Exh is header with only a mid mount muffler by tank.

15" Enkei Rims are about 17lbs each.

I need to hit about 2400 lbs for the class I am going to run next year so I plan on saving weight with the following, not in any specific order.

Lighter wheels. (Team Dynamics 13lbs)
Lighter brakes, probably 2 piece alum hats and 4 piston alum calipers. etc.
Lighter battery
Power Steering Delete
Remove every last bit of firewall carpeting/thermal barrier on both sides, wheel wheel trim, and any unused brackets allowed in my class.
Lexan glass.
Possible replacement hood/hatch with fiberglass or CF

I actually want to get "underweight" and place ballast in the rear to get the wieght bias better than the 62/38 split I currently have.

Here is a thread on a mustang forum, the guy was looking to make his stang under 2500lbs, by building alot of his own CF panels.
