Im very curious as to how much of a difference weight reduction makes. Do you "feel" it? I will probably be removing some extra weight from my car in the near future so I want to know if this is going to be worth it

here is a video of me doing a 0-60 w/o a launch and kinda an early shift in first, i don't know what my exact time is, but its decent!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IvDyb_7p0g

In the video, it hits like exactly 60 mph in 2nd, i didn't need to shift to 3rd, but i wasn't gonna hold 7100 either, no need to push harder.

and yes, if you take out 2-300 lbs, it makes a huge difference!!

Getting another 80lbs out of it you may need to do more then take stuff out.. You may have to start cutting brackets out and things. I think one guy had his to under that but he hacked some stuff out of it.

The front SVT seats with the airbag weight 50 lbs each.
I noticed when I take someone that weights 200-250 lbs in the car with me that I need to higher in the revs to accelerate in the city cause so taking 200 out should have a good effect and not only on acceleration

well, if u figure, CF fenders and hood will drop about 20 lbs, Braille battery (6 lb b. attery) drops 40, PW windos/locks and rear wiper motor will easily hit 20 lbs!! so i would figure i can drop at least 80 lbs more. I still have my airbadgs in, though i don't use them cause the module is out (6 pts are safer when properly installed) I could still pull the AC, for racing, take out the exhaust and run header back, though i don't want to cause even w/ earplugs it still hurts!! There is alot more to be had but its really not worth my time. my headliner is still in, i could pull the passenger's seat, if i don't have a copilot, I could pull the dash, I guess what i'm getting at is there is still room for weight savings w/o going into cutting

Your going a little further then I’m with it. Personally I don’t want to spend the money on the CF stuff, I do the free/low cost work. Unless it safety related like my seats and belts.

Are you going to just completely remove your windows, or make them removable?

And if your really serious look at these windows. http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html...te-molded.html

The stock battery it's not so heavy, it only weights 35 lbs which is not too bad, so you won't be saving 40 lbs. Actually a Braille battery that has the CCA of 500, the minimum to start the car in the winter is 15 lbs, not really worth it my opinion since it costs close to $300.
Anyone knows how much the stock hood weights?
