Weighed my car yesterday......

WITHOUT me in it, and minimal cleaning stuff. How it rolls every day.


DRUMROLL.........







2,660 lbs.

Stuff that adds weight over no optioned SVTF:
-Moonroof
-Audiophile box (w/amp still on it)
-Kicker CVR 8" sub
-Kicker 100W amp
-JBL Front and rear Speakers
-CODESVT Harness bar
-2" Racing harness
-the wal-mart took kit I always carry


Stuff that removes weight from my car:
-APC CF hood
-Rear seats removed
-17LB Excel rims
-Removed shift weight (...what, it's "weight")


not to shabby......just thought you would like to know.

Pretty close to what I got...2,683lbs.
Nothing removed from the car, 1/4 tank of gas, and a couple items in the glovebox.

shit...I forgot how much gas I had.........I gotta go do it again today...lol....

only cost me $2 to do it.........at a grain scale....I'll try it and check the fuel this time...lol...

If you have the slighest idea how much gas you had, its simple math.

1 gallon of gas = 7 lbs. (give or take temperature/humidity)

Im jealous. When I weighed mine I came up with this.



That's also full tank of gas, 25lb BMX bike but then also no back seat and just one amp and spare and jack. I weighed it again without the bike and 1/2 tank and it was only down to 2760. This scale went in 20lb increments and may not be super accurate.

i dunno...i got the same weight with the reserve gas light on right before I got there........I will try another scale, but that should be about right I guess.

Ok, taking the weight of the fuel out of the equation...

Between amp boxes, BMX bikes and so forth, there seems to be a bit of a discrepancy.

Of course, scales vary, but at the same time I am curious.

About 2 years ago, I went to the track and for giggles, I put the car on the scales.

Emptied the rear (spare tire etc.) and floor mats, random CD's, copy of "Ishtar" and anything else you can think of and I weighed in at roughly (I forget the exact number) 2600 LBS with me in the car.

I weigh about 210.

Is there any standard scale that is used?

I know we have the sticker on the door jam, but we can see how accurate that is.

With the difference in weights, is it possible that there is more sound deadening material based on build date?

Is it possible that there is more weight from different materials/option packages (I know that's inherently obvious, but 200 LBS!?!?)

You guys have got me thinking now...

I weighed at a certified truck scale.
Then, I weighed my car when we had the NorPac Divisionals here in Helena.
There wasn't even 20lbs difference between the two.
(The spare and jack were not in the car at the Divisionals...leading to the 20lb difference)

Hmmm.
Sound deadening...could be some of it.
My car never came with the firewall blanket.
^^^I'm not sure if anything else is missing, and I'm not about to start pulling up carpet to find out.
