need simple awnser, will a SVT header swap hurt gass mileage?

ok now so you can better awnser me.... this would be a header, cat and flex swap will stock parts, only modfied to allow for all the proper sensors etc....

now lets say im not human, and CAN prevent myself from putting my foot into it....

doing moastly freeway driving (55-70)

will i see a increase, decrease, or no difrence in my fuel mileage?

also asume that i have a short ram intake, and a 2.25 average flowing cat back exhaust (will be modfied to fit the SVT stuff)

oh and ill unhook the batttery and wait for the ECU adjust before "checking the gass mileage (i hope that makes sense)

a simple better, worse or none awnser will do

thank you very much for the help!!!

I think that it will increase because of the better exhaust flow

You will but it might not be real noticable.

you should get better gas mileage due to the fact that the exhaust gases flow out better but it probably wont be a dramatic change

I agree with others. If your driving habits stay the same, it should increase SLIGHTLY.

hehehe trust me ill be able to keep my foot out of it, while the focus is a very fun car to drive, after owning a 600cc sport bike... it just feels like a slug XD

the ironic part, its a honda sport bike

im moastly puttting the header/catback on for a nicer sound/ a few xtra MPG

going to do custom 2.25 at a local shop and slap a nice big resinator in the midlle as this is my comuter in the rain, and id like it kinda quite *shrug*

mind you if it gives me a %10 increase in MPG, itll take me 100,000 miles at $3.00 a galllon to make it worth it , but im ignoring that fact! i get better MPG !!!!

so thank you all for the input, ill see how much cash i got laying around, and go from there!

Theoretically, everyone is right, the engine is breathing better, so it should increase mileage slightly. However, I've yet to encounter someone who has had that happen...I know I didn't.

That said...do the swap anyway. It is worth it.

I did mine after a manual swap, left the intake stock. I noticed my highway mileage reach 28-29 mpg, whereas with the manual and stock exhaust, I only got 25-26 mpg. This is highway, not city. I saw a drop in city because I liked to step on it.
