Adding Cruise Control to non/CC ZX3

My 01 ZX3 Focus is the stripped down no option car and I would really like cruise control. Has anyone added cruise control to a non cruise control car? If so how is it done and what is needed? I have a wrecked SVT I am currently pulling the engine out of so I should have all the parts but any additional help would be great. I looked through the how to section and didn't see anything about this. Please help. Thanks

Thanks, I didn't think it would be that hard, I know they sell a kit on Ebay but I figured I had all the parts on my parts car I could pull off but not exactly sure how to wire it up is the main part???

That's where I saw that kit too! Probably a few minor wiring, and 2nd TB cable with a fuse and a relay.

Ford use to sell a kit to add cruise control... I believe it cost around $500 without labor.

That 500 is what I am trying to avoid, I guess I'll have to do a write up when I try it on my car.

You could PM b16sir1991, I know he had a couple of the FR kits sitting at the dealer he works at for less than $500. I got mine from Summit Racing last summer, the install is pretty easy.

Do you still have your instructions? I am not going to get a kit, just using parts off a wrecked car, can you email me the instructions you got with your kit? I just want to make sure my throtle doesn't get stuck or something weird while I'm driving, don't want to get into an accident.

Unfortunately I have no idea where the instructions went, it was a printout, maybe 15 pages written very basically (think 5th grade level.) You might try PMing the same guy and see if he might be able to access the instructions, or call Ford Racing and see if they could e-mail you a digital copy.
