Heated Seat Issue

So I have a problem with my heated seat on my svt. They are Recaros. The problem I am having is the heated seat on the drivers side is not working. The passanger side works fine. When I press the button to turn the drivers side heated seat on the light comes on to indicate that it's on however i get no heat to the seat. The passanger side works just fine. I have checked the fuse and made sure the connections were tight. Does anyone have any ideas to help me out, its getting cold at night in Michigan!!!

Thank You,
Chris

my 2004 zx5 driverside heated seat and seat back also stopped working. I had it replaced, under warranty by FORD. Replaced about 8 months ago. under the 36k and 3 year bumper to bumper.... I also have the ESP for 100k and 6 years with only a $50 deductible...

chances are the heated seat is bad, and needs to be replaced.

well if it is the heater itself, can you replace that without having to replace the seat?

Yes you can, remove seat from car (disconnect battery 15 min b4 y start) turn upside down, bend up all the tabs that holds the seat cover, remove cover, guess you will find a broken wire close to the thermostat, splice solder and use heatsrink tubing (no tape!) . The job sucks , but warm seat is nice. (Have done this on 3 driver seats so far, all with the
same brolen wire)

Im having the exact same issue. Passenger is fine, driver side is non functional YET the button lights up and the switch works. I doubt the heater element is bad completely, but it's possible. Let's keep this bumped until someone finds the cause.
