Duratec Tranny swap

Hi!

I'm trying to get a new tranny for my duratec (06) and I think I would go with the SVT tranny. Does anyone know if it will fit? if not, what other options do you suggest. Thanks!

Nope, bell housings are different between the Duratec and Zetec engines. You could swap a Getrag over to a non SVT Zetec engine though.

Now, I don't kow if it has been attempted, or even possible, but you "MAY" be able to put the bell housing for a Duratec on to a Getrag tranny, but then you have to figure out what to do about a clutch and flywheel.

To put it mildly, the ends don't justify the means.

non removable bell housing on the getrag..you would have to do major fabrication but it has been done twice before i think...
