ORP vs. Super high flow Cat
Im looking to get one of these, however I was wondering will I pass PA emissions with the ORP as it has no cats?
Also I will pass emissions with the highflow cat, correct? How much power loss is there with the highflow cat vs. ORP? ( I am refering to the random technologies ORP and also the Random Tech Super high flow cat, sold by McNewsautomotive) Thanks -Pete |

you might get away with a visible inspection depending on how good they look. But in theory you wount pass emissions. With the HFC you will pass emissions. and cfm did a test to show the difference and the orp and hfc were very similar in performance gains
|

super HFC? hmm.
you will not pass emission with an ORP. you should pass with a HFC. this is based on sniffers. if you have a tuner that eliminates the MIL, an ORP will be safe to go through a OBDII test. but they have the right to sniff.

get the HFC...I had a orp and didn't like it...I took it off and am thankful I did. Plus your legal with the hfc

if you look at dynos between the two, the HFC and the ORP are right about the same, its just a matter of where you see the power. IIRC, the ORP will give you gains on the high end and the cat will give you more power in the middle.
IMO you will be better off with the cat, have a better chance at passing emissions (PM sent about that), and it will sound WAY better. I have hear clips of ORPs on stock focus exhausts and its not that impressive. I have a cat on mine now and it sounds nice...a lil louder, but just about the same tone.

you have to look at that dyno and see WHERE it is making the power...dont just look at the numbers

Yeah I know... I wasnt thinking... I hope thats about the same results for the RT cat aswell. casue thats going on my car this weekend.
