some don't care either. new studies are showing that during an accident in cerain situations that airbags can cause more harm such as chest, neck, burns, and facial injuries during lower speed crashes, also a loss of vehicle control.
It's personal choice tho. me i'll leave them, i found the tray to be about useless... things (my cell phone into traffic) slide right off it... and out the window on a left turn, thats why i have the airbag back in.
Besides, noones mentioning the light always being on.
good call didnt even think about the airbag light always being on:/

Removing factory safety equipment will land you nothing but problems in the event of an accident.

good god that cover is expensive now. $80! I'm pulling my airbags to use a different wheel, and because at this point the whole thing is going to be a track car. Rollcage and harness will be definite requirements.

Check UK eBay and such. Can usually find them over there. Just be careful when removing.

Also if you get in an accident that would normally deploy the bag and your insurance finds out during the investigation that the airbag is removed they can deny all claims you may have. Compound that with anybody getting hurt due to this negligence and they can sue you big time. Don't forget to get the light and code turned off if you plan to use it on the street also.

I got into a head on collision I was in a Ford probe at the time and the other car was a Nissan maxima. Neither of us had airbags because both cars were older than 96. We both were going roughly 45-50 mph. I hurt afterwards but I walked home from there. I was using a seat belt. No airbag no crushed ribs no broken face or windshield in my face or glass anywhere. The other guy was just as hurt but had no other injuries as well. I thank God I put my seat belt on that day. I was a youngster at the time and thought they were dumb but now I don't start a car with out first putting it on. It would have been worse if we hadn't had just a slight angle on our crash. We both would have engines in our legs but an airbag wouldn't have helped that! I literally walked home from that crash. So Shut the f up about airbags being needed. It's just another expense you have to pay for, when buying a car. They cost so little for the car companies to manufacture and install and they just continue to increase prices for them. They do more damage than good anyways. Medical bills, vehicle damage/cleaning (if still useable) all goes up with the airbag going off. Don't be a pawn of the motor industry and believe everything you hear or read from major car companies.
