Hey, I went to a street racing forum once, and they spouted a lot off about laws and procedures. I could have believed the famous line "if you're going so fast, the cops won't chase you in fear of endangering others", sorry, but that only works in Need For Speed and Tokyo Drift.

Your best reliable source is to ask a cop or go to your local courthouse, they are OBLIGATED by their position in society to tell you the legality of what you can or can't do to a car. Throwing around charges like Manslaughter to no airbags is a bit over the top for something you read online.

My point isn't to make anyone feel dumb(God knows we have enough BS in our lives as it is), just not to leap before you look. We all came to this site for a common reason, and we may disagree at times on certain things that may or may not be legal, I hate to be so cliche, but shouldn't we just agree to disagree sometimes?

yeah what the hell i am 19. i own a karate school and i am a correction officer for the state of florida. i am very responsible, careful, safe driver, don't drink or smoke or use drugs. never been arrested. don't go and get crazy at the clubs every night. i am working on my b.s. degree in criminal justice. and i own my own house. and i will be getting married soon.

so i ask you what the hell do you do that makes you so much better than some so called childish 19 year olds. seriously. i want to know what do you do for a living? and what makes you think that you are better than every one else? and what gives you the power to stereotype one group of people?

i just looked at your profile you are a ford asset instructor. no really how the hell does that make you better than me or any one for that matter. it doesn't. you are just like everyone else on here. you drive a ford focus and you like your car like every one else. you are new here so you might not already know but at the end of the day it is your car do what ever you want to it.

why do ppl care so much about what someone else does anyway? If someone wants to take it out who cares... it's their car.

Some people are retarded, end of story.

Yes we all have a chance to disagree, and that is what I am doing. I did not mean to insult ANYONE, I just think this is a very VERY unsafe mod to do, and it's risking the life of someone other than themselves.

Respectably, but putting the key in the ignition is unsafe too, you don't have to be on the road to be in a car accident and it be fatal. Unfortunately we live in a reality where eggs can kill you.

Some risks are ok, some aren't, you don't see me eating eggs, but I don't protest them.

ok, gonna state this ahead of time...i am NOT getting in this to flame or offend or tick off anyone and refuse to become a part of the name calling and whatnot.

but the "some people are retarded" was a childish 19-year old comment. end of story. and dude, no one has a problem with the fact that you disagree with taking out the airbags. seriously. i'm sure there's others who agree with you. and i completely understand your arguments as well as the other side, i really have no opinion on this whole thing cause i've never thought about it and personally have no reason to do it. but others have posed very valid reasons for doing it (other than the "weight reduction" reasoning, unless you're a serious racer and have done other serious mods, alone it'll make no difference). you just went about saying voicing your opinion wrong. poor choice of words. the way you said it, there was no way it WOULDN'T start an argument. came off too argumentative, whether you meant to or not.

sooo, yeah. why don't ya'll just stop this mess? it's kinda ridiculous. maybe this thread should just be locked if it keeps up like this.

oh, and btw, the "I don't think a miata is a great car to have kids in anyway.. it's a large go-kart." comment...yeah, that's just opinion again. ever think that the miata isn't the primary family vehicle, but there may be times when there's no other choice? *again, not starting anything, just putting this out there to show that there's another side and rational thinking to everything.

Again, focus. I don't think a miata is a great car to have kids in anyway.. it's a large go-kart.

^^^^ Its much bigger than the motorcycle we ride on...I must be crazy, because that thing has no air bags either. LOL

BTW, no offense taken. Just healthy arguement.

Glad you're not taking offense. I'm ignoring the attacks.

One of my friends goes 120 in his Focus and weaves in traffic with his baby in the back.
