I've sat on this foam without deforming it at all... it's very strong. Foam is like plastic... you can make it thin and flimsy or dense and strong.

I like my backseats... they fold down to give all the hatch room I need, really, so I see no point in removing them. But it's an idea to look into if you're interested in doing it.

did you weigh the wood and materials before you started and add all that up? whats the weight difference in it all? i saw you said in the beginning that the material you took out weighed around 60lbs. but it seems to me it would be a lost cause putting all that wood and material back in if it weighs nearly the same.

You can knock the pins out the hinges to the left if you are looking at them sitting in the back seat, just grab a small screw driver and a hammer
