its official yesterday I left my car sitting without the battery connected for about 6 hours. I went back to the car before work and tried to start it up again, I connected the battery first or course, and nothing would light up this time, nothing on the dash so now I know its my ECU/PCM, Im gonna have to wait till tuesday to take it in because Im going to be busy all weekend and monday.

Then the car just dies, tried resetting the ECU by disconecting the batter for a half hour, worked but then died again shortly after when I was driving it and hit 4k rpm. Now i just get the four dashes ---- across the odometer and tripmeter.
Reving but no acceleration - Any odd sounds?
The car dies afterwords - Did you get a check engine light?

I thought the four dashes had something to do with the PATs key.

Have you checked the electrical connections around the MAF sensor, coil pack, and altenator? If one of those have a bad connection (which is common) then that could be causing a problem.

Electrical problems are the worst and suggest you take it to the dealer. I hate it, too.

Ok this morning when to switch my car back to stock reconnected the battery and the car started back up. Drove it around the parking lot where I left it; drove around a mile at different speeds and RPM's. Now my car seems to be running like nothing happened??? All the wires and connectors are properly plugged in and as far as I can see there are no cut or bad wires. Could it be that my fuel pump is going to die soon??? When it died on me the RPM's stayed a bit up at 4k with the engine sounding like it was over reving then a few seconds later everything just dropped and the car died.

Change your fuel filter first. It's better to start cheap.

Just wanted to comment on the original issue. I have a ZX3 and i have the same problem (random surging - generally at low RPMs, high gears, deep throttle - and the car stalls after i put the clutch in) the surging is workable, just annoying as hell, down shift and all's well. The car dying while pulling into my parking lot, a parking space, a stop light...even a low-speed turn, however, is terribly frustrating, bordering on dangerous. I changed the fuel filter maybe 8k miles ago. Tossing out my .02 and letting you know it's not 100% svt-specific.
