01 ZX3 VS 00 Mustang
Alright well I have been getting alot of crap from my mom about modding my "Little 4 Cylinder". (Yes I still live at home, but it's because I go to school and it's cheaper than paying for a dorm/appartment.) So I have been debating wether or not I want to challenge her to a race at the track. But of course before I do so I want to make sure I can actually beat her.
 I have an automatic 01 Zetec with a MAC shorty intake and I have a MBRP exhaust coming on the 3rd of october. I also have very new set of Kumho Ectsa asx tires. She drives 2000 manual v6 coupe with almost 140,000 miles on it. She is no slouch on shifting either, she used to have an 80's something cobra mustang sp she's not bad. I have beaten my buddies 01 alero with a CAI (on a private road of course) if that means anything. I just want to know how our foci's do agianst mustangs.

well...she does have one of the slowest mustangs ever produced. if shes stock...she might still beat you just because she's good with a stick. if you had some more mods (exhaust, header, tune) i would say you would smoke her.
well...mabey not...i just remembered they changed the v6 in 1999 which bumped it to 190hp. so..with that im not sure if you would beat her without FI.

Yeah the car is completly stock. With out the headers and tune would it still be atleast close? lol

Arg I definantly wouldnt be able to afford FI. Lol maybe if I atleast keep up with the mustang she will shut up a little.

Yes the 2000 V6 Stangs had 190 hp. And with the 5 speed they did not run that bad. I hate to say it....... but I think she would take you. If you had a 5 speed with some more mods, it would be a drivers race. I will have to go with MOM for the win.

If you had a five speed I'd say it was 50/50 chance. If you want to win you need FI. Start searching for nitrous ;)

The v6 mustang has about a 50hp advantage, plus she has a manual vs an automatic. That's more of a beatdown than a race, but seems alittle awkward racing your mom anyway
