shifter moves alot!

i was drivin my car pretty hard on the highway just to see how it was goin.
1st, 2nd, 3rd and holy mother the thing just shakes! is it supposed to vibrate that much??

i know it moves and all threw the drive train but wow i couldnt belive it
any thoughts??

You might have a broken shifter base. Remove the center console and have a look. If it is broken get an SVT base, they are metal instead of plastic.

^^thats what i was going to say...after some hard shifting, i shattered the plastic base....u could have the thing engaged in first and move it around like an inch in each direction...metal shift base is amazing

do u mean like you dont touch the shifter and and it just vibrates on its own...not excess play in the movement but excess vibrations when it should be still??

Is it floppy in gear? Like there's room for it to move side to side significantly? Might be the shifter bushings are worn out.

no problems getting it into gear or anything but once i put it into gear and and go up to 5000 RMP she vibrates like nuts

thats weird...id be freakin out if it started rattling like that...how many miles are on the car/transmission
