Track-day setup advice?
Running this weekend at Rockingham Raceway roadcourse
I'm trying to get all the setup advice I can. I've got KYB AGX's with Intrax springs, and Azeni 615's (215/40-17). What's a good baseline for shock settings and tire pressures? I've talked to another front-driver in my club, and he recommends I start around 31psi F/32psi R and adjust to keep the fronts at 40psi hot. He also advised against setting the dampers at my stiffest AX settings (and he's not a fan of the AGX's at all - but nobody was going to give me $300 more for Konis....) Anyone here have good advice? I'll be taking on-board video |

It differs from course to course. Much like AX.
My advice would be to start with your AX set up and work from there. In all liklihood, you will find that the car is very "twitchy"... That said, make one run to establish your baseline. If it seems too aggressive, then back off by 1-2 pounds on the front and go from there.

Nope - just a 20min session at VIR, trying to stay away from the train.
Right now I'm thinking I'll set the dampers in the middle (2F, 4R) like I use on the street and adjust from there. |

Just drive...
It is much easier to get in the car and find out potential... If you start second guessing yourself even before you put rubber to pavement, then you are lost before you even get started. Figure out YOUR starting point and go on the fly...

yep, what weeasp said.
what may work for one person may not work for you. you must tailer your cars settings to the way you drive the car and react with it. even when you do finally get the setting the way you want they may not work another day due to different temps, humidity, etc. It's something you'll have to feel out for yourself to have correct.
