You can't mess anything up. Unless you completely burn your circuit board with your solder gun. Pretty hard to do. haha

Let me know if you have any questions! It was the best mod I have done or will ever do to my little Focus. I just cringe at the thought of hearing that now. I love it... just a nice pleasant red light blinking....

You can do it man. Grab an old circuit board like an old video card or network card; whatever you have and practice soldering wires to those spikes sticking up.

When you wiggle/bust off that speaker, you get a way bigger lead to solder to than you would practicing like I mentioned.

Good luck!

EDIT: OOPS Sorry.. I thought this was a reply to my door chime mod. hehe

I still need to do this. been wanting to but too nervous and not enough time.
also don't know what color i would want to do. i hate the big green glow from my svt cluster. and my odometer hasn't lit up since i got the car. lol

It should really be the same process. With the extra light(s) for the aux gauge

if i remember correctly, the high power ones make it brighter (obviously) and keep it from having "hot spots" or spots that have more intense light than others.

i might be wrong. but i think i am right

anybody else, please feel free to correct me.

I took mine apart. And there wasn't a bulb behind the Lcd like yours. I have 4 bulbs instead of three. Do you think this still might work?

Glad I decided to check this thread after a while of being M.I.A.

Vleds.com is the place I've went to get the #74 bulb but that was years ago until i found superbrightleds.com. If you go there and search for the same bulbs, the ones they'll have the bulb need and WILL have the bulb socket included.

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b....html%23ipanel

To answer your question about the Svt odometer : Yes it should work, there's no difference IIRC. The link i posted will show the the type of bulb needed for the project. you don't need the high-powered smd, that would be an overkill nor the 360 degree one. Just get the 74-x one. I've switched between white and blue over the years i had mine, although i'm highly interested in seeing how the UV (purple) one will look against the LCD screen.

*Anyone that have any questions about the project, don't be afraid to send me a PM.

Like i said before, the project is not hard at all. just take your time and you should be fine.
