Installed Toms Tune - Pull Trouble Code P1246

The car was running fine for about a week. Every cold start and short distance driving, the car rpm's will drop to around 500 and through a battery light. P1246 is the alternator. My question is are the 2 related and can I removed Tom's tune to factory, take it to the dealer, then once done put the tune back in the car?

The car is stock other than the tune and a drop in KN.

i don't think it's tune related man. yes you can remove tom's tune. go to diagnostics, trouble shooting, then restore original backup. once you do that though, it erases toms tune. you'll have to have tom email you the tune and load it back onto the predator before loading into the ecu

btw, i don't think it is, but to know for sure if the code is related to the tune, just go ahead and restore the factory tune to the ecu and see if you still have the problem

**EDIT: sorry, go to options, then diagnostics, then restore original backup

I have the Powertrain Warrenty, however the alternator is not covered. I might just leave the tune in. Thats what I was thinking, it would be hard pressed to say if the 2 were related. I've had a flicking problem since day 1. I had the YFR0 installed and made no difference.

The dealer said it would be no charge to have the system tested.

They will not be able to tell if you have Tom's tune on the car at all... All you should be worried about is if they flash the car back to the stock tune for you which they shouldn't b/c it's altenator related, not ECU engine management related...

toms tunes dont throw a code that is bad for your car in any way, it will only help the car not hurt it.

Speaking of which, I'd like to order Toms "tune" but I can't get his website to pull up. How can I get a hold of Tom?
