Quick 6-speed tranny question

Yes I just got a 07 STS focus the other day that is minus a drivetrain and some body damage. What I am working on right now is the drive train. I was wondering if the 6-speed transmissions that came in the 03 focus will bolt to the 2.0 or 2.3 duratec??

Well, I'm sure it can be done. The 07 Focus still uses the MTX-75, correct? If so, that transaxle bolted to the D23 as well as the Zetec for the few years they coexisted. I imagine it would be pointlessly expensive and complex, but the links kinda work out in my head...

The MTX-75 has a removeable bellhousing. There are different bell housings for the Zetec and Duratec. The Getrag doesn't have a removable bellhousing IIRC, and can only be mounted to the Zetec block.

EgZ is correct the bellhousing is not a direct fit so it would cost much bucks and work to get to work for a car that would be better powered by a 5 speeds shorter gearing IMHO.

If I remember correctly somebody did put the 6-speed on a non SVT zetec just prove it could be done, but it was very time consuming a laborsome, and I think there was a custom adapter plate involved.

the mtx-75 is not a bad trans, just build it a little before you put it in

Darn, I really wish someone made a 6speed tranny for the duratec 23.
Hmm, here's a dumb question......

If the MTX-75 has a removable bell housing, is it possible to find another tranny with a removable bell housing?
I guess what I'm getting at is can you use the MTX-75 bell housing on another tranny that has a removable bell housing as well.

I know, I know it sounds stupid, I'm new to this stuff.
Maybe someone could shed some light on my ill-fated logic.
