Removing Strip beside handle

i have ugly wood strips in my front doors and the centre piece too, i would buy a black centre piece to match, but then i'd be left with these ugly door strips.. is there a way to remove them without damaging anything or leaving holes after?

first focus i've seen that has that, if there's fabric under it, i'm sure you can take it out. if there's not. you might wanna leave it there unless get new inserts.

Ok, So I can help you. This strip is very hard to take out, and probably not do-able because it has these pins underneith made of plastic that go through theses holes. FORD Melted the ends of the pins once they are on thes other side of the holes. So basically there is no way to get it out unless you brake it. Then you would have trouble putting it in an will have to put new pins, and melt them yourself, but that can be tricky to make it nice and tight. I took this out last week for painting, and there was NO way to take it out. I took the entire door plastic off (just requires you to undo the hex screws around) and taped up the entire door, pushed tape UNDER these strips, and sanded, sprayed it, and clear coated it. It looks great once done, but its challenging to tape up so the paint does not leak on the fabric. BUT IT IS POSSIBLE. Here are some pics of this.....and its finished product..Before the blue, mine were stock grey......kind of like the silver tape I used to paint with......

Hope this helps ! ! Let me know!!!
