My car needs a new motor :(
So, back in May my car started throwing codes and sputtering. It had something to do with the 4th injector and cylinder. So, I got a new injector and put some engine cleaner in my motor. I drove it to work the next day w/ no check engine light coming on or sputtering. On my way home from work everything was perfect, but the second I hit the drive way the car just shut off. So, I started the car back up and heard the most hideous noise ever. We pulled it to the mechanics which is right down the road and of course he said my motor was blown. It still starts and drives, but it makes really nasty noises in the motor. So, If you are in the Florida area and know where I can get a somewhat cheap motor let me know please! I miss my car. I'd just open up the phone book and start calling salvage yards..
Wouldn't pay more then 300 bucks for a used zetec...you might be able to just rebuild your motor i can't listin to your sound clips right now but what do you think is shot in the motor? could be an easy rebuild. |

yep that sounds like a spun rod bearing... i dont think you need a whole moter but you will need a new crank and rod bearings at minimum. good luck on the hunt.. ebay sells them pretty cheap.

i hear full motor build? lol hope you get it fixed
if you need help at all i work at lazydays on i4 and have many tools and access to many other tools.... so i can help if you need another hand... just shoot me a PM.

sounds like a opportunity to upgrade your motor, if its possible? i always replace parts that fail with better ones
