This is only for the 2005 with R13. If you have an older model, use this How-To instead.

The fog light hack mod is the same for all Foci that are 00- some 05 because its the R13 Relay. For those of you who want to remove your DRL, remove the R12 Relay to the left of it if you standing to the side of your car and not directly in front of it. All Foci are set up for DRL you just have to install the Relay if it doesn't have it or if you want them gone just remove it.

Just a quick note guys....I bought an 03 ZX5 and went to do the fog light mod and it was a no go. Dug a little deeper and found out that it's RL-4 and not RL-13. And yes, the fogs stay on with the high beams.

I have a 1999 1.4 petrol Focus CL. Does this apply to my model?

Looking at the owners guide R13 is heated front screen and diesel fuel fired heater.
There is also a reference in one reply to R4 but that is headlight washer system.
R5 is listed in my guide as main beam, R6 is dipped beam and R12 is daytime running lights.
Should I be looking at one of these relays? Can you tell me what the R13 referred to here actually operates.
I'm just a little confused!

Thanks.

Here is a write up for the DRF (Daytime Running Foglight) modification.

Photos were contributed by myself and another Canadian member named Kevin, a few years ago. Soem of you were asking for this mod, so here is the write-up.

Note: we can confirm this works on CANADIAN cars, however we heard that some USA cars have different locations for the DRL Relay, so try at your own risk.
