Heading to the Track. Questions?

I'm about to run my car for the first time at the track, I have two questions.
1) Which fuse kills the traction control.
2) Will my 2004 stock SVT run off the 108 octane, or will it hurt my car?

Any suggestions or tips for a first timer?

1) I think it's fuse 46
2) If you aren't tuned for that high octane it will make a difference, but not really that much. And is that leaded or unleaded? Cause leaded race gas can hurt your engine.

I had a friend who filled his SRT-4 with 100octance and said it was a bit stronger, but not worth the extra $3 a gallon more.

As far as suggestions, just work on your launch and shifting and timing.

Do you still have a Cat? if so I think anything above 95 oct will do some damage.

If you have a tune set up for higher octane then you will notice it a little.

Track...Drag, Road Race, or AutoCross???

I'm assuming Drag race.
Yes it's fuse 46, and that would be the only type racing to pull it for.
If you're doing either of the other 2, forget about pulling that fuse, unless you like spinning out.
^^^It will give you a 50/50 F/R brake bias...not something you want when taking turns.

As far as the gas, I wouldn't waste your money, unless you can have someone give you a tune for 108 octane on short notice.
In addition, if it's leaded, it will plug up your CAT in a heartbeat.

Don't believe that 108 is going to be unleaded and unless you have money to burn (literaly), don't use it. Leaded fuel will foul your O2 sensors.

one more thing...

dont be discouraged at what your car runs in the 1/4... the focus is not meant for straight line driving... its meant for twists and turns...

this is how i think of it... you dont need to know how fast your car is on 108 because you dont drive it with 108. you wanna know how fast is your car on normal octane, because thats what you normally use.

lets say even if the 108 give you .2 seconds in the 1/4 (which is highly unlikely). Thats useless, cuz when you go home and fill up on 93, your still running a time with the added .2 seconds you lost only because of high octane gas.

all im saying is that why do you wanna know the fastest your car CAN be. dont you really wanna know how fast your car is ALL the time?

my $0.02
