It is abnormal I haven't autocrosses yet?????

I know this car is MADE for the corners......

and I have an adjustable dampning suspension and better brakes on it......

and I LOVED the Dragon and the corners.....

so what am I missing with autocross???

I have seen the parking lots they use down here in LA, and they AIN'T pretty. I don't want to ruin my tires after one go around. I could go buy some R-Compounds and throw them on my stock rims and have them sent down, but I dunno if it would be worth it.

I think I would like a road course like summit point, or the one in Baton Rouge better.

it all depends on the person, id say try it first, you dont really ruin your tires after a day at the track, ive run a good handful there fun as hell and dont ruin tires like some people think, go out and do it, also yes you are abnormal fo not doing it yet

also i like how you stated a fact then ended with a ? mark lol, but id def say a big track is more fun then autoX, you only get a minute to 2 on the autoX course opposed to 30 minutes to an hour at a time on a track, all depends on the track setup on both, try autoX tho its really fun, i love it

Well, I was basically waiting for better suspension and tires, and now I have them sooooo.... my first one is August 19th yay!

Since you have the parts, its good that youre thinking about it, but its weird that you havent said YES LETS DO IT!! lol

Its usually only 25 bucks for a weekend, about 6-8 runs, so just go out there and have some fun, shoot the grass with the guys and come home happy you put those expensive parts to some good use :)

One of the big draws of autocross is the ease of entry. My local events run $15 for members and $25 for Joe Somebody, and while the mall parking lot may not be Summit Point, it's a heck of a lot closer and probably 8 times cheaper. Road racing looks like it'd be a massive amount of fun, but it also looks like it can be a massive shot in the check book, depending on the club you run with.

Your tires will be fine, and you'll learn a lot about the car. My only regret is not starting sooner.

Granted going to a road course is DEFINITLY more expensive, but its alot funner as well.

When I was at VIR we ran in 30 minute heats, 2 in the morning and 2 more in the afternoon... thats 4 HOURS of track time in 2 days.

Not to mention all of the other cars there... there was everything from stock Miata's to race prepped Porsche's and Ferrari's... some guy showed up with a NASCAR car. It was so cool seeing all those cars out there running.... and there were a few wrecks right in the turn we werewatchng from (all non injury wrecs... just people sliding around in the turn)

my father and i went to the Mustang anniversary at barber motorsports park, and I got to go out on it, ony 45mph......but it was DEF cool......he got to drive to 100mph, and took me along...

it was exactly what I wanted to do....
