volant for svt?

Hey, will a volant intake fit into an svtf? it looks like it would if i use the stock tube that runs from the tb to the air filter box.

Does anybody have an SVT with a volant intake?

I will answer that...

the SVT has a square snorkel for the airbox, the regular focus uses a circle for the snorkel, so what you get is the SVT square not fitting into the Volant's circle hole....I basically hacked the shit outta the Volant box to make room. You could always make it easier and use a regular focus snorkel, but they are smaller.

that is if you want the stock look...

if you want a "ram-air" type effect, take a piece of flexable piping and snake it down to the lower grille. there is an opening between the end of the grille and the radiator.

here's a few shots of what I did:

I has to zip tie the tube, but it has held, and has been used in HEAVY rain w/o any issues......

It screams nicely when you get on it

P.S. if you do this we will be the only 2 with it.....

hmmm, i think i'm coming up with an idea. I bought the volant from foufresh and he had the standard focus snorkle, but i think i'm gonna do something like what you did. My dad sells flex tubing where he works, so i could probably get him to give me something. Is there an opening on both sides of the grill? if there is, i might try to run some tubing to both sides so as to take in more air.

The volant looks sweet on the svtf. I actually have an svt snorkle that runs to the bottom of my volant box. You have to modify the end of the volant tube where it connects to the box, but i works like a charm. After going from the stock snorkle to the svt snorkle, I definately noticed more power on the highway from all that extra air. Here's the How-to for fitting the svt snorkle to the volant box:

You can also get the SVT snorkle to fit with a silicone intake coupler, I had to cut off about 1" at the top of the SVT snorkle to get everything to fit correctly and use some black RTV to fill in the spots where the coupling doesn't touch the SVT snorkle (if you're that anal...I re-did mine and didn't bother with the RTV.) I figure cutting a $30 snorkle beats hacking the airbox that you can't get seperately from the rest of the intake.
