Drive Through Car Wash Kills my horn!!

I drive a 06 ZX5 with GFX package. Today, I went for a drive through car wash and after that.. my horn sounds like a rice horn. This really upset me very much.

This is the first drive through wash after I change the air intake to the Steeda SRI. And before that I was just using the self made stealth CAI config. Now my suspicion is that the stock air intake box kinda blocks the water from rushing into the horn. Therefore I’d never encountered this problem before. However I also think that the stealth CAi config is no good, because that means the intake is actually “eating” water from the drive through car wash and also blocks the water from going into the horn.

Now I think I will either give it another day and see if the horn will decide to sound like a Focus or if it remains to be a rice, I will replace it with the air horn.. hehehe.. :)

So what does a rice horn sound like exactly?

Also, wash your car yourself or at one of those self wash places. Drive throughs often do more harm than good as you've apparently witnessed.

P.S. Get one of those semi truck horn kits!

But how to connect an air horn? I saw one set at Canadian Tire. Comes with 2 red horns and a bulky transformer or something...

My old 93 Escort GT had a badass horn. It was LOUD and I scared the hell out of people from time to time. I guess they didn't expect such a loud horn from a little car. My new Focus' horn isn't quite as loud as my Escort's, but it's still a good one.

I went to the website to listen to the sample horn of the air horn. Not impressive. Sound rather high pitch. So I went to get another horn "Freeway Horn" or something from FIAMM. It is LOUD! hahaha..
I removed the old horn and shoke all the water out of it. And I connect the old horn together with the new horn. Now it is super loud with 2 different low tone. Kinda annoying.. hahaha..

Lets wait and see who is the first one to listen to these bad boys.. hahaha
