I went, and the news reporter quoted me out of context!

I said hatchbacks are like minivans for younger people, in terms of storage capacity and versatility. Leaving the last part out makes it sound like I think the things are buses.

When I was talking about fit and finish, I never used the word "endlessly". I strictly said the model year 2000 had many complaints with seat levers and hatches not lining up.

Other than that the experience was awesome, nice to meet Joe, Brian, Tom and the others. I really believe this Focus is a better quality product than the previous examples. It should sell well, and the looks will grow on you once people start modifying them.

^^^^ Welcome to the press....Been there before. At least the event got some press. I wanted to go as well. It was a shame really, just terrible timing for me. Oh well. I have toured Hondas plant and Harley Davidson. I wanted to see how Ford did it,too. Maybe next time.

I got to go! I don't have time to write up anything about it now, other than to say it was nice seeing people from the forum and from fj, it was killer being able to test drive an '08 at the proving grounds, and to have one of their vehicle dynamics staff put us through the paces (the wheels left the ground at one point!)... oh, and Ford bought us all a really nice lunch at Andiamo's.

But i'll write a little more about it when I get off of work and have time.
