3 door and 5 door seat differences

My mate has for sale a set of 3 door leather seats and im really interested in them as their cheap, but i have a 5 door.

Im not concerned about them being tilt forwards, as this feature can jsut be ingnored, i dont know if the front seats will fit in the same way though. I am also worried about the back seat, it looks the same, but whether the dimensions and the sides are the same i dont know

Any help appreciated

They should fit. I installed 3 door SVT seats in my 5 door, fit perfectly and yes, obviously I don't use the tilt forward option. You didn't mention the door panels but just to give you a heads up the seats should be ok but the door panels are not interchangeable...the 3 door panels are longer. What year is your friends Focus?... I'm not familiar with with the UK Focus but you may have to alter some of the plugs/wiring.

If both Focui are RHD then all the wiring/plugs should be in the same location.

Ah that clears some stuff up! Well the door panels are not a problem, as the ones that come with leather seats, are identical to the ones that come on the Zetec model, which is what i have, so it all matches.

So the back seat defnitely doesnt look out of place, and the sides of it are the same? ( the bit viewed when you open the door)

As for the airbags in the seats, do you think this will be a problem? dont see why it should be.

I was thinking more of the plugs themselves not the location of the plugs. The SVT connectors were in the same position but had to be altered in order to fit my ZX5 harness. They are also color coded differently so you have to know what cross references to what. As far as the UK version I don't know, maybe they use the same plug style/color code for all models and if so then this is not an issue.

My SVT rears look and fit fine...don't look out of place at all.

I am not an expert on airbags and for safety's sake you should double check with someone who really knows but I would imagine that if you do not have side airbags and your friends seats do you would simply not hook them up. You just want to make sure your OEM airbag equipment and sensors still function as they originally did.

looks like im not getting any more, as my dad has reminded me i owe him 2200!!!!!!! not good, but its going to be something ill be doing in a couple of months, and the 3 door ones are easier to find than the 5 door ones, so this will be useful still.
