Two words: Ignition Cylinder. Meh. That was a pricey fix. The A/C had a leak that has has been corrected with about 4 cans of stop leak.

Massive problems with clutch till Ford came out with a revised clutch package....

Other than that been very happy. The reverse switch failed but thats about it. Not too shabby.

Lets see, where to start....
P/S pumps leaks currently
Valve cover gasket seeping now for the second time
both stabilizer links up front
1 outer tie rod
lower trans mount is bad right now too
broken coil springs (Ford fixed it)
loose and knocking rear trailing arm bushings right now, the right side really bad.
engine surges at steady throttle, probably malfunctioning EGR or TP sensor
brakes in the rear squeal like a stuck pig and they are new Motorcraft shoes
warped rotors twice in 11,000 miles
A/C works only part of the time, it'll just do whatever it wants
remote hatch release doesn't always work, in cold weather doesn't work at all
car has a crappy manual trans....Getrag trannies suck. The amount of gear rattle is totally inexcusable.

Car is a total P.O.S. I'd never even consider another one nor would I recommend one. I had a Ford tech just recently tell me he has never seen so many things go wrong before 100,000 miles as theydo in a Focus, and you know what?? He's right because I have experienced it myself.

So far the only thing I've had to take it in for has been to replace my foglights. Warranty covered them, though.

6 Disc Cd Player Replaced twice...the one I have now still stops working if you go over harsh bumps or hit major pot holes.
Ignition failed, couldnt start the car at all or turn the key...supposly it happens to alot of foci.
Transmission went at 30k miles
The trunk hatch release inside the car doesnt work properly all the time..idk what the deal is.
My door handles stick like crazy, especially the passanger one...i unlock the car all the time and people are standing there and I'm like its open pull harder...I feel like such an idiot.

Those are the only serious things, oh and the bad gas mileage that everyone heres about, but it seems like its getting better, I got 25mpg a week ago, even though that was combined. I'll keep an eye on it and see if its truely going up or just a fluke. I did seafoam the car though and lots of crap came out, so that might of fixed something. Today I just cleaned my MAF which was dirty so maybe that'll help too.

My right passenger in the back speaker went out. I think its just a connection problem. Im coverd under the warranty. I didnt blow it out, i dont even turn my music up that loud. Thats my only problem. I get about 35-40 MPG. So no problemo with MPG'S

Well,, there was nothing wrong with it...until my sister crashed it last November
So it screwed the wheel up. But I fixed it since then.
And sometimes the ignition locks up.
But, other than that, it's still badass.

Nice to see I'm not the only one who is the victim of a sibling driving the car and wrecking it...my little brother put mine into a ditch one night and royally screwed up the front end. If it wasn't for the fact that I already had plans to replace the front end I would've killed him.

Never again; he's never getting behind the wheel unless I'm in the car with him, and I'm no longer leaving the keys where he can find them.

hmmm...well, first, the fuel hose fell off the pump(or something like that). it was spraying fuel everywhere right before my sis n my mom were bout to get on the interstate for a nice long drive....it was a 10 cent clip that isnt on fords part list...

my sister burned through a set of brakes

plug wires went bad

need a new p/s return hose, leaking after a wreck

key cylinder almost locked up, had it replaced, and the lever inside is stuck, so it always thinks the key iis in the car, and i can pull the key out while im driving....

i think thats it cept for basic maintenence

it rolled over to 80,000 miles tonight! yay!(or maybe not....)

hahah ska, i was on the other end of a scenario like that. i totalled my sisters 02 CRV after a lil too much everclear...still hasnt forgiven me for that one

2002 focus auto trans.

At 92,000 miles hi gear in transmission goes. i have the 6 year 1000,000 extended waranty. The 6 years was up 4/5/08. Still had 7200 miles to go. No good to me 6 years up first. I changed fluid about 50,000 mi. all gears ok except hi. I drove it to the dealer in second. When I put it in drive it shifts oh goes to third but kicks out at 30 mph. If the tranny can't be repaired without rebuilding I will not buy another ford. Will go to Toyota. I will try to get ford to honor the remaining 7200 miles I paid for 100,000. three weeks out of waranty. This sucks.
