U can handle it.......

Door handles are not this car's best feature. Believe me when I say I've broken many of them. Not a real bad fix, but be sure you order all the broken parts before starting this job. It' tough crawing over the floor shifter in the early a.m.!

Yeah...my escape had the same style door handle and she broke one of those too. Just gotta crack open the door panel to check out what all is needed.

I voted the top option, though my Focus has had a few major issues. Thankfully they were early on and were 100% covered by the warranty (needed a new throttle body and dropped a clutch on me).

I have a terribly annoying clunk in the suspension, and quite a harsh ride. Dealer looked at it and could not locate anything wrong. I also asked the dealer to figure out what the strange creaking noise was under the car, and they were unable to figure that out as well. I found it was the e-brake cable as discussed in the tsb's. the audiophile radio I have is also experiencing the treble fading in and out issue discussed in tsb 10-13-3. I've tried to update the sync, and it actually reverted back to an older version. Finally a month later the website recommends an update (the one I previously had), but it keeps saying there is no USB device hooked into the car. I'm pretty disappointed overall. The car is a 2010 SEL.

Update:

So far my 08 has 93000 miles and this has happened,

Ford racing suspension
Rear lower control arms because the bolts were seized
Gas is 3.899 a gallon for 89 octane
A quart of oil is $9 for full synthetic
I replaced the tires

So my only gripes are not really manufacturer related

I've only had one problem with my Focus that took me a while to figure out. My engine was stalling at idle and it turned out to be the Idle Air Control valve. It was a pretty cheap and easy fix though. Other than that, it's been an awesome ride.

2001 zts

165,000 miles and I need frt. wheel bearings, another set of struts, half shafts, lower control arm bushings, stabilizer strut arms, outer tie rod ends, clutch on it's last leg, and a timing belt change is close to be needed. A frt. break job with calipers sure could help, along with new brake hoses.Rear stabilizer bushings would stop the rearward noises, and a new emergency brake cable[mine broke at 135,000 miles] could come in handy. But beside a few other little probs. the car drives well. I love it.
