where should I start?? Front passenger side door won't unlock, trunck only latches sometimes. radiator fan lost a fin and is now way out of balance, over heated as a result and blow a head gasket and burnt all the valves, and now the timing belt is gone. BTW this has all taken place in the last 10K miles. and it only has 74K on it!! see if I ever buy an other focus!

2005 ST at 70,000 miles. I've been lucky & can honestly say other than the gas pedal sticking at times when it gets cooler outside, there has been zero problems. I've drove it across the country 3 times as well.

Weird thing is I'm thinking of trading it in, because I get bored of cars quickly. Also I would like an automatic and a hybrid for better gas mileage. Considering how well it's running I really should hold onto it.

When I first got my car, knowing I would probably have to put some money into it to get it running well. Left wheel bearing had to be fixed, antifreeze leaking, spent about $500 repairing some things to fix that, new tires, which I knew needed it, so of course that expense, and some brake work which I did myself. Had to have the clutch fixed along with a new starter which was all chewed up ($900).

I only paid $3900 for this car and figured a thousand here or there to get it in good condition, however after putting in all the money I'm not intending on parting ways with it. It's a good little car.

Everwinter, it sounds like you might have a Fusion hybrid in your future!

Update on my '09 SES: Paint problems solved, with very nice results. Much better coverage of body color than stock; for instance, the trunk's decklid well used to be a flat dove gray color. It's now body color silver. Door frames are now evenly covered, where you could see through to the underlying base coat before. No mechanical or electrical issues at 6.3K miles, as one would hope. Car drives well, gets good in-town and great highway mileage, and handles mountain roads brilliantly. Pretty happy with it!

Thumbs up

Nothing too damaging. Bought another 5-speed transmission, clutch master cylinder, new clutch, fuel filter, and air filter.

That's about it. I'd definately buy another Focus.

Angry

Big problem.

Bad drivers who don't pay attention.

Rear ended and slammed into another car.

Now my Focus is totaled.

Had a problem with the lights. The fuses would keep blowing. It turned out that when the car was assembled the wires to the corner light were being pinched by one of the bolts holding in the airbox. This was intermittent and took forever to figure out.
