Bought my 03 SVT last spring with 84K on it. Right now it has 90K on it. I'm in the process of replacing the clutch/fw (as to be expected), water pump and timing belt (maintainence).
I've also had some o2 sensors go, the alternator, battery (wear out anyway).

That's because Goodyear eagle f1's are very sticky summer tires, they're for performance, not for high mileage

I havn't had any issues with my 04 ZX3, I guess I have been pretty lucky. The only real grip I have is with the brakes. I can understand car companies cutting cost on some look good stuff or even some convenience items, but not safety components. That is just plain cheap! I am currently in the process of putting SVT's on my car. Much better! OH and the ingnition froze on me but they do that with the 04's. Ignition was replaced under warrantee.

what sort of problems?

Mine has broken the fuel pump, replaced under warranty, but some parts that should also be replaced were not; fan belts and timing belts with diesel on them, injectors not cleaned out properly.

Since then, a coolant leak, not identified yet. Happy otherwise.

cheers

I've been chasing a brake light issue for months. I did a small hack so the car is usable. Hazard switch gets warm and triggers the brake lights. I've replaced all related parts with no success.

2009 SES sedan

In the first three weeks of ownership, I've noticed three minor paint problems. There was a rather visible dirt speck in the paint on the body just below/behind the driver's-side C-pillar that was warrantied, taking about $700 out of Ford's profit on the car. There are two smaller paint flaws; one that shows touch-up paint on the driver's door inside the B-pillar area, and a wee bit of fiber stuck in the painted dash applique below the CD player slot. I'll live with those.

There's a bit of fiber fluff of some sort inside the right headlight shell between the reflector and the outer clear cover. I guess either the Wayne plant or the supplier's factory could use a good vacuuming!

The SYNC system has one glitch; the shuffle function only seems to put only about 12-15 songs into a flat file (same linear order as in my iPod's playlists) queue, which then gets played over and over instead of shuffling all the songs by an artist, or in a playlist or genre, whatever I've asked the system to shuffle. I have to ask SYNC to play the artist/playlist/genre again to get a new batch of 12-15 songs to come up. Dang Microsoft!

Zero mechanical or electrical problems!
