Also were did you run the cable so it would get to the arm rest? What did you have to remove or mod to get the cable their also (mainly to get the cable out of the dash)
I put my hand into the opening in the dash, down near the bottom on the passenger side until I saw my fingers poke out, then grabbed the cable and pulled it back in. Then tucked the cable and it hid nicely. I didn't have to cut or mod anything.

Problems with unit

I just bought the unit you recommended, hooked it up the same way (except I don't have a 6 disc changer, so there's nothing in the female port of the wire adapters), set the dipswitches, all of that. I am pretty certain that I did it right.
The display on the radio went from saying "No aux audio input" to SAT 1, but nothing happens from there. I can't hear the ipod from the radio, nor can I control anything that way. It's weird. There are a couple of wires in the harness that look like they've been cut. Could that have caused a problem, it looks like they're cut in your picture, also.

The ipod says "peripheral" on its display.

Sorry I took so long to reply. It sounds like you have everything right.

It should say SAT1, then switch to "IPOD CONNECTED", then go blank. If you don't have the ipod connected, it says 'IPOD NOT CONNECTED".

Do you see 000 in the lower left of the display on the headunit?

It won't start playing automatically, you have to hit some buttons initially to select the playlist..

I think I hit the 1 button on the headunit, and then the 2 button a couple of times to select the playlist, and start the music. Read through the quick reference card to make sure I'm right, I'm in the office and just trying to remember off the top of my head.

If its still not working, I'll see if I can replicate it during lunch.

oops...forgot I don't have my ipod today.. sitting at home on my desk :( will see if I can borrow one from someone in the office for a bit.

Completed yesterday.

Took about four hours since me and my friend found that the wire is pinched when the armrest is raised and lowered again. Only a couple times of this and we noticed that the wire was getting marked up. No doubt that it would be cut into two pieces in no time. We turned the hole in the bottom part of the armrest into a slit and no more pinching. We can take pics if you would like. Everything works like a charm.

Thats odd. I tested mine out a few times after I drilled the holes, and no problems. Maybe it was just a quirk? I also have a lot of slack in the cable. Was your pulled tight when you lifted the armrest?

If you want to put a picture up, that would be excellent. Another idea to add to this can't hurt!

Yeah, we had slack, but that seemed to contribute to the problem. THe wire would come out when you lifted the armrest, but would not go back in for us.

Will take and post pictures withing the next few days.
