Make sure all 4 tires match, (sign of cheap repair work) check for leaks on the ground.... (engine issues) look at the rotors... (any corosion, hasn't been driven for a while.) turn on and off all electronics and see how they cycle....

Then have fun on the test drive.... my .02.

Oh and get a carfax.

check out the DSI clip. its known to break on them. If it is you should get it replaced asap. mine took out the motor when it went because it was broke for a while. but other then that cheak tires, brakes, look for any mismatch in paint as its a sign of body work. just ask questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cruise along at about 30 and drop the clutch in 4th. If it suddenly bogs badly the clutch is AOK. If it just slowely winds down its worn.

Get the VIN and do a carfax and an oasis from mike here or another ford employee.

Check the lower header piping for dents

Cycle every electronic and HVAC setting you can find. Have fun most of all!

DSI= Duel Stage Intake, the clips are known to break, but can be replaced with better aftermarket ones for cheap. Don't forget to rev that sucker to 7K, it likes it, you'll like it, trust me.

I saw this talked about before in a past thread....

where is the DSI located? is it the actual intake? and why do the clips break?

because they made from plastic ;-) And u have to look from driver side on intake manifold...it's under intake tube...it should have a cable attached to it... also look at brake/clutch pedal if there is no sign of any liquid...(master cylinder leak) look at thermostat housing (o-ring leak)
