Exclamation Trouble Code-1518 IMRC Stuck Open

*UPDATE*
Got rid of the engine light with the purchase of a new Intake Manifold Runner Control.

I am throwing a DTC1518 code and this typically falls in the "Broken DSI Clip" category. The thing of it is, I don't have a broken DSI clip. Another thing I am having a hard time understanding is that I can clear the code, and not have a problem for 2-3 days. Next thing I know, I'm throwing the same code. Is my actuator starting to fail? How can I clear the code and not have any problems, that it randomly just throw a code? Help!

Copied this from the FAQ
P1518 - Intake Manifold Runner Control Malfunction (Stuck Open) The IMRC system is monitored for failure during continuous, key ON engine OFF or key ON engine running self-test. The test fails when the signal on the monitor pin is less than an expected calibrated range at closed throttle. IMRC monitor signal circuit shorted to PWR GND or SIG RTN
Damaged IMRC actuator
Damaged PCM
An IMRCM PID reading approximately near 1 volt at closed throttle may indicate a fault

basically it might be your IMRC SENSOR usually it is. I think they are quite expensive.

I have had a CEL because of a intake manifold runner control before. Just started my thread. Not sure what the reason is for my current CEL.

Are you talking about the Actuator? I'm not familiar with the 'sensor'.

If my manifold is in the 'Stuck Open' position, where am I going to lack power? Low RPM's or High? How much money does the IMRC usually run? My DSI clip is all good, I know my actuator is shot.

This might help; The IMRC pulls the manifold into the long runner position upon startup, during normal operation. If it cannot pull to the long runner position, you would experience a lack of low end torque.

Does the pivot action for the imrc shaft turn ok by hand? I think I've heard of them binding intermittently, causing this fault. The IMRC actuator is kinda expensive, as is the intake.
