Facelift (2005+) rear bumper on prefacelift (2000-2004) sedan

Anyone tried installing the newer style bumper on their older sedan? I was thinking of getting the S.A.P. rear bumper for my '04 sedan and somehow modifying it to "fit". As far as I know, the only differences in the rear ends are the tailights and the trunk lid.

I'd rather keep the older look on my sedan because I already have Euro tails installed, and I want to "try" and stay true to what the 1st generation European focus should look like IMO, but add a little touch of "coolness" lol

Not that I recall coming across..... check with Brad, another moderator on the forum that is quite versed with the sedan. He's the guy that has the 'strange' members name, click the FF staff link in my signature...

no offense Brad, never can remember all the symbols, heh

I've seen a pre-facelift sedan with the facelift rear bumper, it does work, but the portion of the bumper that is notched for the trunk to be able to open is a little bit wider on the facelift bumpers.

I checked out the poison body kit, but I personally like Ford's two piece diffuser/bumper. Being that my car is white, I think the black-diffuser-on-white-bumper would look sweet! Time to go start hunting for a set now lol

Hot! i think for mines I'd have to add on like two or three inches to the facelift bumper since my taillights are wider...more work for me lol

...or I could cut the trunk portion off the old bumper and somehow fiberglass it to the new one and make it "blend in". The ideas are flowin, now I just need some money :D
