It isnt that i dont like Performance Zetec cams its for the 350.00 that they cost they ,in my opinion for the cost vs the gains they are not worth it and I have tested most of whats out there other then custom grinds
Im sure when you get to 300 or 350+ HP that there will be more gains out of cams but you will need a custom grind then to work with what you are going to do with the Focus

Tom

you would say there is no gain in a FR2 cam or its just a 6 - 10 hp more so its not worth the money.

so lobe lift is the height of the eccentric rise over the radius of the base circle. In this case, the rise is 0.340 inch. This lift is generated over 141 degrees of cam-lobe duration. Since the cam spins at half crankshaft speed, we would double this duration to come up with an advertised duration of 282 degrees.

I'm guessing on the intake side you would want a wide duration and alot of lift
to get as much air into the motr as you can.

On the intake side you would want the the lift to be desend and duration to be short to keep as much pressure on the turbo without have any suck back.

some more basic info

CAM LIFT:
This is the maximum distance that the cam pushes the follower when the valve is open. This is different from valve lift. See Gross Valve Lift.

DURATION:
The lenth of time that the valve is held off the seat by the cam. This is measured by the degrees that the crankshaft rotates. More degrees of duration will make the engine operate in a higher rpm range.

DURATION AT .050":
The distance measured in degrees of crankshaft rotation from when the valve is open .050" far until it is .050" from closing.

DEGREEING YOUR CAMSHAFT:
Degreeing In Your Camshaft means synchronizing the camshaft's position with the crankshaft. A few degrees of misalignment can affect the engine's operation dramatically.

OVERLAP:
A situation where both the intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time when the piston is at top dead center on the exhaust stroke. The greater the seat duration is on the intake and exhaust lobes, the greater the overlap will be in degrees.

I found this info here http://www.aperaceparts.com/tech/camterminology.html

I have crower turbo grind cams and they suck balls in low RPMs and kick ass in high rpms.

I'm really interested to see how Ray's FI cams turn out, especially on a supercharger setup.
