I was thinking *i know very hard for me lol* and I remember asking Tom about his V6 swap cause he had a gauge cluster that was from a merc. cougar in there. I believe he used the whole wireharness froma cougar (late model of course) cause he said it was more to what the focus had than the contour. Could'nt you just get the whole harness out of a cougar (plus its key for the PATS and gague cluster) and ecu and just put those in instead of hacking away at a focus harness and tourturing it to work witht he contour ecu? It seems to me that might be simplier? Are you trying to use your focus key to start a countour ecu? if so then the pats key will show you nothing. But then you say the gauges won't light up with just the key in right? I would just get a cougar wireharness and ecu with keys and go at it from there. If I ever do this swap it'll be with a cougar donor instead of a contour plus they still made the SVTC motor live on in some of the merc. cougars yes thats right some of the cougars had the SVTC motor in them. They were still too heavy though compared to the contour. Who would have though going from 4 doors to 2 doors would had that much weight?

exhaust is gonna have to be custom fabbed but i bought a 2.5" Trubendz with a Borla muffler catback for most of it.
the exhaust will also have a hi-flow cat and an electronically controlled dump.

and yeah i might just get cougar stuff.....

and i WAS making great progress... but now im at school so i need to make that priority number 1.

About that.. however there is a possibility it will be sooner. He's checking the money situation and me and chaney may be going to his house to finish this up for him provided the funding is indeed there

I'm pulling for you to get this swap done as I'm sure everyone else is, hopefully I'll see it at a G2G sometime.
