Well for # 1 there wont be a twin turbo on any csvt, people have tried it and it wont work. # 2 the csvt engine is much faster in the low end, and the svtf is alot faster in the top end. I smoke modded svtf's all the time in the lower power range, but one we get up in speeds the svtf's slightly inch on us csvt guys.

Its mainly a power to weight ratio, he will run alot faster times he will be in the 14's off the bat I would think without any mods. I have ran a best of a 15.22 with a slipping clutch and a worn suspension with the engine mods I have now. I have ran at ffw after I did the spec clutch,spec flywheel,Torsen atb, forged axels and new mounts and ran a 15.3 but I wasnt hooking for crap and I have a slight leak from my rear valve cover thats causing a vacume leak. If that wasnt the case and I hooked I would be in the 14's easy.

I would think he should be running a 14.8-14.9 with a stock intake and exhaust if he has the lsd and a good clutch and can hook up. What does a svtf weigh? The csvt weighs 3800 bone stock if I am not mistaken.

3800 seems a little heavy to me! Stock focus weighs 2700.

If you don't mind me asking, why won't it work? Is it a space issue (not enough room anywhere in the engine bay for two turbos) or is it just impractical with only 2.5L and you're better off with a single?

The Contour SVT weighed in at 3126 lbs in the 2000 model (mind you that they came pretty much one way - fully loaded). Here's the link http://www.edmunds.com/used/2000/for...892/specs.html

While the Contour SE Sport (not quite as loaded) weighed in at 2769 lbs.

From my experiences, the Contour SE Sport (in stock form), with its 2.5 litre 170hp/165 lb ft torque duratec 2.5 was a quicker car than the SVT Focus (in stock form). I'd venture to say that a 200hp CSVT motor in a focus is going to be a beast, especially in a light weight stripper model zx3.

As for the question about twin turbos in a Contour - the engine bay is packed wicked tight in stock form - I can't imagine where the space for one turbo would be, let alone two. The biggest issue with the Contour is that you have to remove a good part of the passenger side suspension in order to get to the alternator (you can't get to it from the top or bottom, so you have to go from the side). The engine bay in the focus seems to be roomier than that of the Contour (based on zetec models of both the contour and focus).

As for good contour forums, it doesn't get much better than contour.org . Before I had my focus, I was moderately involved there. I miss my old SE Sport. God, that was a fun ride. And the sound that motor made. It truly was a poor man's BMW.
